Siargao is a small island paradise located in the northeastern part of Mindanao, Philippines. Known as the country’s surfing capital, Siargao offers more than just epic waves. The island boasts breathtaking beaches, pristine lagoons, and picturesque landscapes. In this blog post, I will share my Siargao itinerary, including must-see places, travel tips, and budget-friendly options.

My Siargao Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and General Luna Exploration

I arrived at Siargao International Airport early in the morning and took a tricycle to General Luna, the island’s main town. The ride was bumpy, but the scenery was worth it. I checked in at my accommodation and headed to Cloud 9, Siargao’s most famous surfing spot.

After taking photos and watching surfers ride the waves, I returned to General Luna and explored the town. I tried local street food, like fish and squid balls, and shopped for souvenirs at the local market. I also met some locals who shared tips on where to go and what to do during my stay.

Day 2: Island Hopping and Sohoton Cove

I woke up early for my island hopping tour. I joined a group tour and visited three islands: Daku Island, Naked Island, and Guyam Island. Each island has its unique charm, and the turquoise waters were perfect for swimming and snorkeling.

We went to Sohoton Cove in the afternoon, located on Bucas Grande Island. The place was far from Siargao, but the journey was worth it. Sohoton Cove is known for its limestone cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and enchanting lagoons. We also explored the cave and swam with stingless jellyfish, a rare and exciting experience.

Day 3: Magpupungko and Sugba Lagoon

I started my day with a visit to Magpupungko, a natural pool located in Pilar, Siargao. The place was breathtaking, with its rock formations, crystal clear waters, and giant tidal pools. I also tried cliff jumping, which was a thrilling experience.

I joined a group tour to Sugba Lagoon in Del Carmen, Siargao, in the afternoon. Mangroves and limestone cliffs surround the lagoon; the water is perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding. We also did some snorkeling and saw colorful corals and fish.

Food Trip and Nightlife

On my last day in Siargao, I decided to take it slow and enjoy the island vibe. I went on a food trip and tried local delicacies, like kinilaw and lechon kawali. I also visited some cafes and tasted Siargao’s famous coffee.

At night, I explored Siargao’s nightlife scene. I went to some bars and clubs and met other travelers and locals. The vibe was laidback and friendly, and the music was a mix of reggae, rock, and electronic.
